Biochemical Horizons Symposium
November 17, 2017

The Inaugural Biochemical Horizons symposium, "Advances in Genomics: From System-wide studies to Genetic Engineering" will bring together top researchers at the cutting edge of their field to share new insights, challenge paradigms, and look past the scientific “horizons” of their fields. This symposium is built upon the Department of Biochemistry’s current David W. Beach and Bernard Axelrod endowed lecture series, which support the growth and development of Purdue as a premiere research institution in the life sciences. Speakers were selected by a committee of three faculty members and span the areas of systems biology, metabolic engineering, genome-wide tool development and cancer genomics. The symposium will open with a keynote address from Purdue Alumnus, Dr. J. Michael Cherry, Stanford University. The symposium will end with a poster session by graduate students and postdoctoral associates, showcasing research at Purdue.

Invited speakers include:
Dr. J Michael Cherry, Stanford University
Dr. Brenda Andrews, University of Toronto
Dr. Gregory Stephanopoulos, Massachusetts Institute of Technology
Dr. Margaret “Peggy" Goodell, Baylor College of Medicine
